Yala National Park

Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most popular wildlife park due to the presence of many leopards (Panthera pardus kotiya) a majestic leopard endemic to Sri Lanka. It is  with grassland and lagoons bodering to the Indian ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. And it is a home for elephants, crocodiles, deers, monkeys, buffaloes, birds, sloth bears and many more species.

            Temperature ranges from 26°C to about 30°C. The North-East monsoon season is when Yala gets most of its rainfall from September to December. It is possible to do half-day or full-day safari with a seperate jeep.

            you’d also witness the tell-tale signs of a lost civilization. The Monastic settlement of Sithulpawwa, an important pilgrim site, is said to have housed 12,000 inhabitants seeking solace, some 2000 years ago. The restored rock Temple, among a series of well-preserved ancient temples offers a glimpse into a glittering past.
