The Sacred City of Kandy
Kandy is a beautiful city in central highlands of Sri Lanka surrounded by mountain ranges, at an elevation of 500m, It lies on Mahaweli river the longest. The area is sustained with tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests and the heart of the city is the Kandy Lake which is amazing to stroll. Temple of the tooth is the most famed, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession and the city was designated an UNESCO world heritage site in 1988 and it was the last kingdom of Sri Lanka.
